I Am This Woman

June 9th, 2008

Well, not exactly. I Am This Woman is a blog authored by a wonderful friend that I don’t get to see nor talk to nearly enough.

On June 15, 2008, Jay, AKA TigerWillow, will celebrate her 50th birthday:

So I’m redefining 50 and I’m redefining birthday presents! What I want are CARDS CARDS CARDS! I want to ask everyone I know for a card. Postcard, birthday, greeting – handmade, store-bought, recycled, retasked – whatever. The cheesier the better, but I also love museum art, landscapes, textiles and photography.

That’s my request. In fact, not just from people I know, but people I know who know other people who know other people… Share the address below with someone, and let’s see how many degrees of separation there are between all of us.

Easy. Pick a card, write a little note in it and slap on a cool stamp. Send it to the address below. YAY! My goal is to receive FIFTY (50) cards.

BUT THERE’S MORE. No, how can there be more! JUST WAIT, THERE IS MORE!

For every person who sends me a card, I will put your name in the hat for a drawing for a present!! YES, A FABULOUS PRESENT CAN BE YOURS! Multiple cards from one person are awesome but just one card per person goes into the hat.

To make sure this is legal, there’s no purchase required, I’m asking for no money. Just say Happy Birthday to me, I’ll put your name in a hat and randomly draw names. You might be the one who gets a present back! I’ll first draw three names on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, but if more cards roll in, I might dig into the Box O’Goodies and find more stuff to send as presents! OMG PONIEZ!!!

Read more about the I Am This Woman Birthday Give Away here and be sure to pick up a card and pop it in the mail this week to:

Ever wonder what you tweet about? The good folks at TweetClouds have been wondering the same thing.

This is what appears to be on my mind when I’m mobile and microblogging — I’m doing a lot of watching, a lot of knitting, and some waiting. And I often tweet haikus from Did I Wake You?: Haikus for Modern Living :-)

Deep & Meaningful Winnie the Pooh Character Test

April 14th, 2008

Your Score: Tigger

You scored 18 Ego, 6 Anxiety, and 17 Agency!

And as they went, Tigger told Roo (who wanted to know)
all about the things that Tiggers could do.

“Can they fly?” asked Roo.

“Yes,” said Tigger, “they’re very good flyers, Tiggers
are. Strornry good flyers.”

“Oo!” said Roo. “Can they fly as well as Owl?”

“Yes,” said Tigger. “Only they don’t want to.”

“Why don’t they want to?” well, they just don’t like it
somehow.”

Roo couldn’t understand this, because he thought it
would be lovely to be able to fly, but Tigger said it was
difficult to explain to anybody who wasn’t a Tigger himself.

You scored as Tigger!

ABOUT TIGGER: Tigger is the newest addition to the Hundred Acre Wood, and he lives with Kanga and Roo, because Roo’s strengthening medicine turned out to be the thing that Tiggers like best. Tigger is bouncy and confident -some of his friends think he is a little TOO bouncy and confident, but attempts to unbounce him tend to be fruitless.

WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are a positive and confident person. You feel capable of dealing with anything and everything, and funnily enough, you usually ARE. You don’t worry about much, and you love to go out and find new adventures.

Your friends and family might sometimes be a little exasperated by your boundless enthusiasm. You don’t like to admit your mistakes, and when you find yourself in over you head, you tend to bluff your way out of things. You would be surprised, however, at how happy the people around you would be if you would actually admit to a mistake. It would make you seem more human, somehow.
