I Too Have A Dream
January 21st, 2008 | by Me |As many in our nation celebrate the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and reflect on his dream, I am reminded of my own dreams. These are some of the things I hope for in my generation and in generations to come:
- That our children will one day live in a nation where parents will not be judged by the number of extracurricular activities their children attend, but by the quality of time they share with their children.
- That parents who choose to be their children’s primary care giver will be regarded as highly as those who outsource their children’s care.
- That 60 hour work weeks become a thing of the past and telecommuting and the use of distance collaboration tools become part of standard operation proceduces.
Like Dr. King, I’m looking forward to a time when we reevaluate our priorities and redefine the American Dream. Today I have a dream. What’s yours?
