Merry November & Happy End of the Year
November 3rd, 2007 | by Me |Wow! 2007 began with a shot. Immediately we were caught up in an amazing blur of activity and it wasn’t until Spring, when the dust began to settle. Come summer, it was all routine — hard, but routine. Now that the Christmas music is playing in the stores I can’t believe that the year went so fast. Despite all the change, sweat, stress and tears, I’m sad to see the year end.
But it isn’t over yet. The next 57 days will be action packed. I can’t imagine how I will get it all done. And I probably don’t even realize all that I need to do. Thankfully. There is strength and peace in ignorance.

Did I Wake You?: Haikus for Modern Living
Last month, a local pastor came and spoke to our Graduate Christian Fellowship about life being a roller coaster and Jesus, the ever present, always secure, safety bar. On this ride of life, we know there will be ups and downs, and yet we always act surprised. And we know that somehow, we will come out of it. The ride will come to an end and we will be fine. So, we have two choices: ride white-knuckled, tense and in fear, or throw our hands back and enjoy the ride.
I’ve done white-knuckled, tense and afraid. I pretty much had it down to a science. Thankfully I realized it really wasn’t working for me, and threw my hands up and trusted God. The ride still gets rough, but faith makes it easier to endure, as does Jesus, my ever present, safety bar
What a wild ride 2007 has been. Just thinking about it makes me want to hurry into 2008, hands held high and eyes wide open. Yep. Might as well enjoy the ride. “Throw your hands in the air, God’s gonna answer your prayer…”
